The application of refractory coatings to both sand moulds and cores, whether by brush, swab or spray can be both time consuming and sometimes ineffective, for example, deep thin slots in rnoulds at cores. By using the principle of a ‘"pressurized garden hose” the mould or core coating can be directed to normally inaccessible areas with ease and the added advantage of fast coverage and freedom from brush marks on the resultant dried coatings.
